Video Consultations
Teaching young doctors and student nurses is an important part of our work. As part of this teaching we sometimes record consultations on videotape. If this happens you will be informed at the time you make your appointment and will be asked to give written consent when you attend the surgery, or alternatively to fill in the form beforehand, click here. This will not interfere in any way with your consultation. You are at liberty to refuse to continue and can ask for the camera to be turned off at any time, before, during or after your appointment.
Reception Training
We are committed to regular staff training. When this involves our reception team once per month for 1 hour, the practice will provide an ‘emergency only’ service at that time.
Protected Learning Time
During 8 afternoons in the year, the practice will be closed for ‘Protected Learning Time’. This is to allow on-going training and development of doctors, nurses and administrative staff. During these afternoons the practice will close at 13:30. Patients phoning after this time will receive our answering machine service. This will give you the telephone number for NHS 24 or our duty doctor. If necessary, you will be referred to G-MED. Details of the afternoons involved are available from our reception.
