Non Urgent Appointments

You are at liberty to see a doctor of your choice but encouraged to see your usual doctor for continuity, particularly for chronic complaints. Please let the receptionist know if you have a preference when booking an appointment.

Urgent Appointments

These will be available for emergencies. The practice works strictly on an appointments system. If you feel the need to be seen as an emergency and cannot wait, you should phone us first. When you phone the surgery for an urgent appointment, you will be offered an appointment with one of our medical team. This could be either a doctor or a nurse practitioner. If it is with a doctor, this may not be your preferred doctor. There is also the option of receiving advice over the phone during the day from one of our clinicians.

Booking GP Appointments On-line

It is now possible for patients to book and cancel their doctor appointments, as well as request prescriptions, using the internet. To access these services please pick up a registration form at reception or click on our ‘Sign up for online prescriptions’ box on the homepage.

Chaperone Policy

You are entitled to a chaperone (a friend or relative or a nurse) to be with you if you are going to have an intimate examination. If you know in advance, please mention it when you make your appointment.

Translation Services

We are able to provide a telephone translation service for foreign language patients. If you require this service please inform us at the time of booking your appointment.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Failure to attend booked appointments will result in a warning letter, as well as potential removal from the practice list if you miss any further appointments.
