Immunisations & Travel Vaccinations
Different vaccines are given at different ages to protect you and your child. Find out when these vaccinations are offered, how to get a vaccine, and what to expect after vaccination.
Travelling Abroad?
Our practice does not provide travel vaccinations or travel health assessments.
NHS Grampian’s Travel Health Service is responsible for providing travel health assessments and any NHS travel vaccinations that may be recommended for your trip. GP practices are no longer involved in delivering travel vaccinations.
We recommend checking travel health requirements as soon as you book your holiday and ideally at least 6–8 weeks before travel.
How to Access Travel Vaccinations
If you think you may need travel vaccinations:
- Visit the Vax Grampian Travel Vaccination website.
- Read the travel health information for your destination.
- Complete the Travel Health Risk Assessment Form.
- Email the completed form to the NHS Grampian Travel Health Service for review.
The Travel Health team will assess your requirements and advise whether any NHS or private vaccinations are recommended. If you are travelling within 8 weeks, you may be advised to contact a private travel clinic.
